Using your rankings of four pitchers -- Nolan Ryan, Bob Gibson, Pedro Martinez and Roy Halladay -- he came up with what we can call “Brilliant Reader Replacement Level.” I’ll try to explain here what he did, how it’s an interesting way to look at WAR and replacement level, and I’ll offer a few rankings for fun.
